For this set of swatches, I used a combination of cotton and silk pieces and created different resist patterns on the each one. I used shibori folding techniques and folded the fabric in different formations and then clamped them with shapes and tools of varying sizes. I also tried using scrunching and twisting techniques in combination with string and rubber bands. For one sample, I made a gum arabic resist and painted it on the the fabric with a brush. After placing the resist on the fabric, I dipped each one in to a vat of indigo dye stock to achieve the blue color of the swatches.
